South River Information
South River is across the Neuse River from Oriental approximately 6 miles on a course of 121 degrees magnetic. South River is an undeveloped river with a very few houses on it. It has what is probably the only graveyard with a boat dock (Lukens) in North Carolina. The graveyard is the only remains of an old town that once sat on the shore of South River. There is protection from most winds if you go up river far enough.
